Join Katie Rose and Over the Hill Outfitters for a 5-day guided horseback yoga retreat where we journey deep into the woods and reconnect with nature and the simplicities of life. On day one we traverse through the mountains on horseback and begin our first of four evenings at the high-altitude base camp. The camp is located in Lower Park which has the beautiful, meandering Florida River running through it and boasts expansive views of the valley and is nestled amongst the pines.

As we gather deep into the forest, we rediscover nature. We remember that we belong in it. We retreat to our origin and reground our being. We are from this place. We learn from the horse that guides us up the hills as we bask in their beauty. We walk barefoot through the meadow and restore our bodies through guided yoga practices as we enhance our senses to the mountain sounds, sights, and feels. We listen to each other’s experiences and instill empathy and grace as we reconnect to the human being and our togetherness. We negate the need for anything except what we have and what we experience.

On this mountain retreat, learn about yourself and enjoy the serenity of being far, far away from civilization. Nestle into the comforts of camp and the companionship of your horse. Learn to connect with the horse on a level of being while also exploring and discovering new trails and sights around the wilderness. Katie Rose is a 200-hour yoga teacher who grew up in the mountains of Colorado. She has been riding horses and exploring the vast Colorado Rockies all her life. It’s when she is in nature where the most inspiration strikes and the teachings of life are made alive. She prefers to teach yoga in nature as opposed to studios and loves to incorporate the awareness that lives in the trees and in wildlife to create a larger opening into the student’s practice. Utilizing the horse as a teacher and a companion, Katie Rose, alongside the skilled horsemen and horsewomen of Over The Hill Outfitters, can help encourage and inspire students to uncover hidden fears as to help the student live a more fulfilling life. She also is a singer/songwriter and will be sharing music nightly around the campfire. Allow her enthusiasm, her lyrics, the horses, the nature-inspired yoga, and her simple approach to life encourage you to blossom like the wildflowers.

Participants are encouraged to have some horse riding experience as well as an understanding of basic yoga postures.
