Over the Hill Outfitters Horseback Riding Guidelines

Please read these guidelines before booking a ride with us:

  1. ALL WAIVERS MUST BE COMPLETED ONLINE prior to arriving at the ranch (NO EXCEPTIONS).  Click the ‘Smart Waiver’ link for each participant on the reservation confirmation email.
  2. We will not physically assist you in mounting/dismounting of your horse.  IF YOU CANNOT MOUNT AND DISMOUNT BY YOURSELF, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RIDE (and you will not be given a refund).
  3. We have weight limits to PROTECT OUR HORSES.  You will be weighed at the ranch prior to your ride if we suspect that you are over our weight limits.
  4. We have a minimum age limit of 6 to PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN.  We do not allow riding double for safety reasons.
  5. All ranch rides require full payment to reserve.  Refunds are given ONLY if cancellation is requested 24 hours before the ride.
  6. All multi-day trips require 50% payment to reserve which is NON-REFUNDABLE.  Final payment is due 45 days prior to trip and is also NON-REFUNDABLE.  Trip insurance is highly recommended to protect your investment.

Thanks for cooperating with us on these guidelines which are implemented to ensure your safety.

Durango Colorado Horseback Outfitter and Hunting Guide

SERVICE is what we’re here for. We are a small, family run outfitter dedicated to providing you with the best pack trip or hunt you can have at any price. We are father and son, Terry Palmer and Randy Palmer. Our base of operation is the Palmer Quarter Horse Ranch on the Florida River, near Durango Colorado. The ranch has been in our family since 1952. Three generations of Palmers work together to keep the herd of over 100 horses thriving. We pride ourselves on having the finest horses anywhere. What this means to you is a horseback experience that is unequaled in both reliability and pleasure, and one that you will never forget.
