With lots of soul searching and much joy, we have decided to retire.
WE WILL NO LONGER BE PROVIDING HORSEBACK RIDING OR HORSE RIDING LESSONS.
Over the Hill Outfitters has been wilderness outfitting and providing horseback rides on the Palmer Ranch since 1998 and the decision to retire has been tough.
We want to thank all of the thousands and thousands of you have ridden with us and supported us over the years.
Remember that life is better when you ride a horse!

SERVICE is what we’re here for. We are a family owned and operated outfitter dedicated to providing you with the best trail ride you can have at any price. We are Randy Palmer, Kelly Palmer, and Terry Palmer. Our base of operation is the Palmer Quarter Horse Ranch on the Florida River, in Durango Colorado. The ranch has been in our family since 1952. Three generations of Palmers work together to keep our herd of over 60 horses thriving. We pride ourselves on having the finest horses anywhere. What this means to you is a horseback experience that is unequaled in both reliability and pleasure, and one that you will never forget.
Over the Hill Outfitters provides horseback rides and horseback riding lessons on our 1000 acre ranch on the Florida River near Durango, Colorado.
There are some who can live without wild things, and some who cannot.
You can see what man made from the seat of an automobile.
But the best way to see what God made is from the back of a horse.
Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better
